REMEMBERING TOGETHER.
On 15th October at 7pm, people around the world will take part in the annual Wave of Light, lighting candles in memory of babies who have died too soon and in support of the families who carry them in their hearts.
This year, Sofia’s family are helping bring that message to communities across Northern Ireland through Sofia’s Wave of Light, in memory of their beautiful baby girl.
Through In Sofia’s Footsteps, Sofia’s family hope to keep her memory alive, raise awareness of baby loss and help create a world where families feel able to say their baby’s name, share their story and know they are not alone. Their Wave of Light initiative is an invitation for communities to come together, remember the little ones gone too soon and show families that their babies are not forgotten.
WHAT IS THE WAVE OF LIGHT?
The Wave of Light is a simple but meaningful way to remember babies gone too soon and show support for anyone affected by baby loss. At 7pm on the 15th October, you can take part by:
Lighting a candle at home and letting it shine.
Placing pink and blue lights in your window.
Lighting up your building, club, business or community space in pink and blue.
Whether you take part from your home or help light up a local landmark, every light is a message of love, remembrance and support. Mourne Peak will be taking part too, standing with Sofia’s family and the wider community in support of this important initiative.
